How to Use the FAQ's

We have compiled a list of questions that farmers and food producers have often asked us. They are grouped into categories to make it easier to search. The categories pertain to the issues facing food and farm businesses as they begin and develop over time. They include questions about starting a food business, where to find loans, how to price your vegetables, what kinds of crops you may want to grow or products you may want to sell, and many more. The explanation below will help you in your search for answers.

Choose a category from the drop down list. "Marketing Outlets" is chosen in our example. Then press the "GO" button to see a list of questions. Look at the list of questions in blue type which are underlined and are links to further information. (Category and Subcategory are listed also, but might not mean much until you have searched the site a number of times and have become familiar with the various categories and subcategories.) So, click on a question. In our example we want to know "How do I sell to restaurants?"
Select a catgory and press GO.
A screen like this will come up with a brief answer or explanation, and will give you another blue underlined link to more information about selling to restaurants. Clicking on this link will bring you to the next screen.
Click on the underlined links on the results page.
Once you have clicked on the link from the FAQ, you are taken directly to the resource guide where you will see many listings pertaining to selling to restaurants. Clicking on the circled link you will see the next screen.
The resources will appear.
This is the specific information we have for this particular resource. It will indicate the category and subcategory in which it is cataloged in the resource database as well as contact information, address and phone numbers, a description and a web site if available. You may then use this resource to help you in establishing and running your business. We hope it helps.
